The line from the water main to your house or building, trenched, laid and connected so water arrives cleanly and the yard is left tidy.
Every building needs a water service line, the pipe that carries water from the main in the street to the meter and into the structure. For a new home it is one of the first underground jobs. For an older home it may be a replacement of tired galvanized or failing copper line.
We trench the route, lay the line on a clean bed, install fittings and shutoffs and prepare the connection point for the tap and meter. Plastic tracer wire and warning tape go in so the line can be located later. Where the utility makes the tap itself, we have the trench ready and open at the right time.
The straightest route is not always the best one. We steer around trees, driveways, septic fields and other utilities, and we keep the line clear of sharp bends and settlement-prone fill.
Copper, PEX and polyethylene tubing are all used for services. The local utility and plumbing rules decide which is allowed, and we install what your jurisdiction expects.
A curb stop, a meter box and a house shutoff should be easy to reach. We set them level, protected and well marked, so they are simple to find in an emergency.
Every household should know where the main shutoff is, inside and at the meter. We mark and describe the location of the curb stop and house valve when we finish, so you can find them in an emergency.

Yes. Old galvanized lines restrict flow and can leak. We install a new line, often by trenching, and reconnect it to the main and the house.
In many places the water utility makes the tap, and we prepare the trench and the line. We explain what applies in your area.
Often. Boring under a driveway can protect the surface. We compare trenching and boring for your site.
Depth depends on local requirements and frost depth. We build to the depth your utility requires and check it as we go.
